Change the way Washington works
End the War in Iraq
Create affordable health care
Break our addiction to foreign oil
Create Good Jobs and a Strong Economy

A Letter from Mary Jo:

My dad was a pipefitter and I paid my own way through college working as a waitress, a blood technician at a hospital and doing clerical work.  I scraped and saved and did without to make ends meet.  I know what it’s like to be short at the end of the month and do without health insurance.

These real life experiences shaped who I am and why I care so passionately about the need to break down barriers to opportunity and see that working people get a fair shake.  I know families are being squeezed by soaring gas prices and falling property values.  Health care costs are out of control.  Bad trade deals have sent jobs overseas and cut the muscle out of our manufacturing sector.  Meanwhile, we are bogged down in the longest war in American history and our veterans are not honored or taken care of when they come home.

It’s time to change Washington.  It’s time to stop the partisan bickering.  It’s time to stand up to the corporate special interests that pull the strings in Congress.

With your help we can get our country back on track.  And I need your support to make it happen.

Sincerely,

Mary Jo Kilroy

Change Washington
To change Washington we need to change the way Washington works.  We need to rein in the power of special interests, particularly the undue influence of the banking, oil and pharmaceutical industries that have written laws that enrich themselves and hurt working families.

In addition, Congress needs to reform itself.  We need to end the secret deals and unwarranted earmarks that waste taxpayer’s money and run up our debt.  Most importantly, Democrats and Republicans need to stop the endless bickering, put party politics aside and work together to get America moving again.
